More Obama/Reid dirty tricks when Senate reconvenes

From Red State

Just when you thought Congress was starting to resemble a branch of the government that represents the people again, along comes another poisonous issue that snuck through Congress and raises its ugly head in the Senate.

It’s known as ”patent reform” (HR 1249/SB 23) and it’s anything but reform with it’s current Section 18 intact. It’s a bald-faced sellout to Big Banking and Wall Street. There are several difficulties with the bill, but the one that jumps out at me is the fact that it’s simply a major job-killer. And for unconstitutionality, it’s a two-fer.

Sen. Chuck Schumer is the one who inserted the Section 18 language into the Senate version of the America Invents Act, and Harry Reid wants the Senate to pass the bill without knowing what’s in it, so he scheduled the bill to hit the floor in non-amendable fashion the day the Senate reconvenes.

Thanks to Sen Tom Coburn (R OK) the Senate version of the bill is currently on hold, but that won’t last when Reid moves for cloture. Section 18 applies only to the electronic payment processing industry* and it gives the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) the authority to revoke patents it has granted in the past. Under this measure, the USPTO can only reconsider patents that have been upheld in federal court when challenged. If the America Invents Act passes with Section 18 intact, then expect to see big banks and Wall Street challenge issuance of patents to inventors to whom they currently must pay royalties.

There’s the pay-off for the banks and Wall Street: they get out of millions of dollars of royalties paid to inventors by getting Congress to confiscate the property rights of inventors and kill plenty of jobs in the process – after a court has confirmed the validity of the patent!

Contact your representative and let them know you are opposed to yet another attempt by the big banks and the politicians to steal wealth from the private sector.

Voercracy is a great way to keep up with whats going on in Congress. you can vote and send messages to representatives directly by clicking in the box below.

If we do not get involved in the democratic process to influence our politicians on how they vote and ensure they protect our rights, and freedoms, the special interests and big banks will influence them... to take them away.

Full Cultural Assualt on America Values Continues

Thanks to Patriot Post

Three disturbing stories surfaced this week that illustrates a disturbing trend in the sexualization of our society (CONTENT WARNING). First up, the Department of Health and Human Services has offered "Questions and Answers About Sex," a link on their "Quick Guide to Healthy Living." If you think the questions are scary, the answers are worse. The premise is, "Children are human beings and therefore sexual beings. ... [E]ven infants have curiosity about their own bodies, which is healthy and normal." HHS therefore tells parents not to worry about teen experimentation with sex, homosexuality or masturbation, as these are healthy steps for children to take. On the contrary, Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies at the conservative Family Research Council, puts it bluntly: "The idea that 'children are human beings and therefore sexual beings' is one of the most destructive myths of the sexual revolution."

Meanwhile, B4U-Act, a 501(c)(3) organization in Maryland that was established "to publicly promote services and resources for self-identified individuals (adults and adolescents) who are sexually attracted to children," held a "scientific" symposium last week. The topic was a proposed new definition of pedophilia in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Some actually pushed the idea that pedophilia should be decriminalized, a position HHS, for one, might have a hard time arguing against given the aforementioned story.

Finally, a Florida Teacher of the Year was suspended for posting comments on Facebook objecting to New York's legalization of same-sex marriage earlier this year. He cited "biblical principles" -- specifically, "Romans chapter one" -- for his opposition. It is not known whether any students are his "friends" on Facebook, but, apparently, the "sexual beings" in his classroom mustn't be given the information necessary to decide right from wrong for themselves. As a side note, in 2008, 62 percent of Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

That's not how our system works - Well, it does now

It only took about a month -- that's right, a whole month, to change the system -- Obama had this to say about Rule of Law in America:
"I swore an oath to uphold the laws on the books. ... I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own -- that's not how our system works."

In a shameless stunt to secure the Hispanic vote, and undaunted by congressional rebuffs, Obama has resorted to fiat execution of the unpopular DREAM Act -- a.k.a. the "Amnesty Bill.

The Department of Homeland Security announced that it will halt all deportation proceedings against illegal immigrants who attend school, who have family in the military or who are primarily responsible for the care of other family members, allowing them to apply for work permits. This means that only illegal aliens who have committed serious criminal offenses in the United States will now be candidates for detention and deportation. -- setting aside of course the first serious criminal offenses that many illegals commit entering the U.S. illegally such as; illegal entry, using false documents, giving false names, carrying weapons etc,.

The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Relations puts out a guide telling Mexicans how they break into the United States in it the Mexican government covers topics like how to safely cross rivers, and deserts, how to avoid human traffickers, (COYOTES, POLLEROS) What rights they have if they are caught, such the right to receive medical attention, the right to contact a Mexican Consulate, the right to receive legal representation without conditions and obstacles, the right To have safe transport. the right to have food and water whenever you needed, and the right to NOT state your migratory status at the time of arrest to authorities.

I am looking forward to reading the follow up guide that will no doubt be published by the Mexican government now that Dream Act has been implemented by executive fiat. How to stay in the United States after you have broken in :

1. Apply for Student Loans and get into school.
2. If your a male knock someone up, preferably an American citizen.
3. If your female, get knocked up early, and often.
4. Apply for work permits.

Remember you have rights, demand they are respected !

Article II, Section 3 directs the president to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." That is, it directs the Executive Branch to ensure that laws Congress enacts are carried out. It does not direct the president either to write his own laws or to carry out laws Congress itself has refused to pass. To do so is a blatant violation of the "Separation of Powers" doctrine that the Founders integrally wove throughout the fabric of the Constitution.

The same president who swore an oath on his inauguration to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" is thus continuing to trample it by refusing to enforce existing immigration laws and by making up his own. Apparently, that's how "our system" works now.

Our rights and our laws be damned -- by order of the so-called President of the United States !

Marines in Afghanistan: audible farting banned .. it offends Afghans

Thanks to the Military Times

You can also find the story on Google by typing "Fart"+"Marine"

First we get hit with Don't Ask Don't Tell, now we have to deal with Don't Ask, Don't Smell.

We ask a lot from our troops, not only must they fight an elusive, enemy that employs the dirtiest of tactics and tricks to kill the maximum number of Americans, Coalition forces and Afghan civilians, they also must win the hearts and minds of the Afghan people, respect their culture, religion.

Now here is the latest directive for Marines ;
"Audible farting has been banned for some Marines downrange because it offends the Afghans."

It's not easy operating in foreign country and culture, especially when you are expected to wage war on the enemy, and not offend anyone at the same time. The Marines that we send into combat are the best of the best.

The same kid who a couple of years ago would not share a candy bar with his brother or sister, or would take his ball and go home because his buddies wouldn't play the game his way -- Now would sacrifice his life for a people he doesn't know or understand, would give his last MRE to hungry Afghan child, or risk his life to pull a wounded comrade out of harms way.

Farting ? C'mon people get serious, it's almost a sport in the military.

Obama's Deal for the Bankers: Amnesty for the Indefensible

The Nation -- This story originally appeared at Truthdig

The Obama administration is rushing to the aid of the Wall Street banks again, and is pressuring state attorneys general to negotiate a sweet amnesty deal.

It is high time to describe the Obama Administration by its proper name: corrupt.

In return for a pittance of compensation by banks to ripped-off mortgage holders, it would grant the banks blanket immunity from any prosecution. It is intended to short-circuit investigations by a score of aggressive state officials, inquiries that offer the public a last best hope to get to the bottom of the housing scandal that has cost U.S. homeowners $6.6 trillion in home equity in the past five years and left 14.6 million Americans owing more than their homes are worth.

Eric T. Schneiderman, the attorney general of New York, has come under increasing pressure from the Obama administration to drop his opposition to a wide-ranging state settlement with banks over dubious foreclosure practices. …

In recent weeks, Shaun Donovan, the secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and high-level Justice Department officials have been waging an intensifying campaign to try to persuade the attorney general to support the settlement.

Donovan has good reason not to want an exploration of the origins of the housing meltdown: He has been a big-time player in the housing racket for decades. Back in the Clinton administration, when government-supported housing became a fig leaf for bundling suspect mortgages into what turned out to be toxic securities, Donovan was a deputy assistant secretary at HUD and acting Federal Housing Administration commissioner. He was up to his eyeballs in this business when the Clinton administration pushed through legislation banning any regulation of the market in derivatives based on home mortgages.

Armed with his insider connections, Donovan then went to work for the Prudential conglomerate (no surprise there), working deals with the same government housing agencies that he had helped run. As The New York Times reported in 2008 after President Barack Obama picked him to be secretary of HUD, “Mr. Donovan was a managing director at Prudential Mortgage Capital Co., in charge of its portfolio of investments in affordable housing loans, including Fannie Mae and the Federal Housing Administration debt.”

Shifting the blame from the swindlers to the victims is at the core of the response of both the Bush and Obama administrations to the housing collapse. It is a shameless effort to forgive and forget the crimes of Wall Street and their political allies while allowing ordinary Americans to sink deeper into the pit of debt and despair.

Obama -- who kicked off his campaign vowing to begin a new era of transparency and change -- will stand before the electorate in 2012 having done everything in his power to shield top Wall Street Banks and their political collaborators from all accountability for their crimes.

What about the budget, the economy, the jobs ? he's going to get to that after his vacation at Martha's Vineyard...maybe ?

Meanwhile we should all just sit down, shut up, and stop all the noise, his gangster government wears the crown, they call the shots and continue to shake the people down.

A Huge Housing Bargain -- but Not for You

From the Street

If your the type that likes big government spreading our wealth around, if you get all warm and fuzzy thinking about the good ol days of Pork and Patronage I (Stimulus I) and the bailouts that transferred billions and billions of our dollars over to Goldman Sachs, Chase and the other Zombie banks so they could continue handing out huge bonuses and continue living a lifestyle they think they deserve, and are getting a little itchy waiting for the news about QE3, and Pork and Patronage II, here is a little something to hold you over.

The largest transfer of wealth from the public to private sector is about to begin. The federal government will be bulk-selling the massive portfolio of foreclosed homes now owned by HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to private investors -- vulture funds.

These homes, which are now the property of the U.S. government, the U.S. taxpayer, U.S. citizens collectively, are going to be sold to private investor conglomerates at pennies on the dollar. These investors will instantaneously become the largest improved real estate owners and landlords in the world and then be allowed to rent them back at market rates.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Treasury Department issued a Request for Information (RFI) concerning the disposition of the inventory of foreclosed homes owned by the federal government.

An RFI is a way for the federal government to get input from the private sector on how to accomplish the goals laid out in the request. But that's really just a facade, as the RFI was structured by the investors to begin with.

The way to keep taxpayers from pushing back is to structure the RFI so that the real intention, the bulk sales, is masked by feel-good goals, such as stabilizing neighborhoods and increasing the supply of rental properties. The mainstream media has been tagged to play baking dog on this, and are doing their assigned jobs magnificently, every major newspaper in the country has done an article on this
story allowing readers to assume that Fannie, Freddie and HUD will be renting the properties directly to families who need housing. And although there is an allowance for these kinds of rentals, it is a minor political facade to the obvious true goal of bulk-sale privatization of these homes.

The entire massive HUD REO (Real Estate Owned) Portfolio is quietly managed by a handful of private firms already, a group listed as Management and Marketing Contractors.

These M&M companies are principally owned by and employ former high-ranking government officials from the various germane agencies -- the Treasury, HUD, FHA and others. And they will provide the necessary access to the current government employees who are tasked with bringing this program to fruition. Once the privatization is complete, those government employees will move from their positions, and many will take up new employment at one of the M&Ms or the new vulture funds.

You and I will not be allowed to participate. These investors will come from the private-equity and hedge-fund community, Goldman Sachs(GS_) and its derivatives, as well as foreign sovereign wealth funds that can bring a billion dollars or more to each transaction.

So if schmucks like us were hoping to get some housing bargains, that's too bad, we'll have to pay market prices and hope for the best.

Nice to know that Big Government continues to work at sticking it to us.

Illegal Alien charged in death of 4 year old Calif Boy

We reported here the other day in our story that "American Families are Paying a very high price for Obama's open border policies " and increasingly are becoming the victims of crimes committed by illegal alien repeat offenders that are not being deported, it's happened again.

This time a 4 year old boy was killed while crossing the street on his way to soccer practice with his mother and two sisters, including the boy's twin.

Prosecutors have filed charges against an unlicensed driver and suspected illegal alien who allegedly killed a 4-year-old boy in a hit-and-run. 22-year-old Marcos Lopez Garcia has been charged with felony hit-and-run, two misdemeanors and vehicular manslaughter, among other charges, in the Thursday death of Christopher "Buddy" Rowe of Santa Rosa.

Garcia had two prior arrests for driving without a license, and is being held in the Sonoma County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

"Little Buddy will be remembered as an energetic, curious, active young boy, who was also kind, compassionate and caring, especially with his twin sister," the family said in a written statement.

"We will always remember his ever-present smile, beautiful steel-blue eyes and peace-loving nature."The man who stole Buddy's life from us will be one day free, but we will always carry the burden of losing him forever," the family said.

There is a BIG BLACK CLOUD hanging over America

Rick Perry has been calling President Obama’s patriotism into question, making vaguely threatening statements about Fed chairman Ben Bernanke, and now, making what some see as a blatant reference to President Obama’s race by saying that “a big black cloud” is hanging over the country.

At top, Sarah Palin's bus. At bottom, Barack Obama's. Each speaks volumes about its riders.

Watch the Fight of the Century - Keynes & Hayek

From Econ Stories

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Great Recession ended almost two years ago, in the summer of 2009. But the economy is flat and threatening contraction.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has just released a report that there were mass layoffs in July, employers took 1,579 mass layoff actions in July involving 145,000 workers

Obama’s Keynesian economic policies have been catastrophic failure,The Government seems confused about what to say, much less do, to turn this around.

John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek never agreed on the answers to these questions and they still don’t. Let’s listen to the greats. See Keynes and Hayek throwing down in “Fight of the Century.”

Last Chance to Oppose the Obama's Union Elections Scheme

From The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation

Through Monday August 22, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is accepting public comments on its proposed rule changes to union certification election procedures.

The new election guidelines would make union certification elections as one-sided as possible by ambushing workers with quick-snap elections and invading workers' privacy by forcing companies to hand over their addresses, phone numbers, and shift schedules to union bosses.

Please watch the video on the below to see National Right to Work Foundation staff attorney William Messenger's presentation at the NLRB's open meeting exposing the dangers to individual workers posed by the proposed rules.

After watching the video, please join the thousands of concernced citizens who have already filed their comments with the NLRB. So far, the Board has received over 8,000 comments -- overwhelmingly pro-Right to Work and against the ambush election procedures.

Tell the Obama Labor Board that, as a concerned citizen, you oppose the Obama Labor Board acting as an organizing tool for Big Labor.

Social Degeneration : Thomas Sowell

Although much of the media have their antennae out to pick up anything that might be construed as racism against blacks, they resolutely ignore even the most blatant racism by blacks against others. That includes a pattern of violent attacks on whites in public places in Chicago, Denver, New York, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Kansas City, as well as blacks in schools beating up Asian classmates -- for years -- in New York and Philadelphia. ... Remarkably similar things are being done by lower-class whites in England.

A recent study in England found 352,000 households in which nobody had ever worked. Moreover, two-thirds of the adults in those households said that they didn't want to work. As in America, such people feel both 'entitled' and aggrieved. In both countries, those who have achieved less have been taught by the educational system, by the media and by politicians on the left that they have a grievance against those who have achieved more. ... What is different today is that there has been -- for decades -- a steady drumbeat of media and political hype about differences in income, education and other outcomes, blaming these differences on oppression against those with fewer achievements or lesser prosperity. Moreover, there has been a growing tolerance of lawlessness and a growing intolerance toward the idea that people who are lagging need to take steps to raise themselves up, instead of trying to pull others down." --economist Thomas Sowell

American Families Paying a High Price for Open Border Policies

Many American families are paying a very high price for liberal policies that encourage illegal aliens to enter our country. It's not only the negative economic impact of more competition for fewer and fewer jobs that worries Americans, but also the human tragedies that result from crimes committed against Americans and an unusually high incident drunken-driving fatalities involving Hispanic drivers, especially illegal aliens.

Often illegal aliens are NOT deported for committing DUI violations, in fact in California, Democratic lawmakers have defeated a bill that would have done just that called Sarah's Law. Sara Cole a mother of four was hit by a drunken driver as she loaded her sons’ bikes into the family car. The severe blow crushed the northern California woman’s legs, leaving her partially paralyzed. The illegal alien driver (Lucio Rodriguez) had a previous drunken driving conviction, a suspended license and a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

Rodriguez will now remain protected from automatic deportation in California thanks to Democratic lawmakers, who joined forces to defeat the bill known as Sara’s Law. The two legislators who voted for the much-needed ordinance in the state Assembly’s public safety committee were Republicans with the majority Democrats voting against it.

Americans will eventually have to stand up and fight. The left continues implement social and economic policies that are bad for America, and Americans. Democrats insist we need a larger and more intrusive Nanny State, however they can not even perform the two most basic duties of the State, protect our sovereignty and our security. Instead they are more interested in usurping our laws, and ignoring the will of the American people.

WRAL.com in Raleigh - Duram has done a documenatry on the problems it's community faces with rise in Hispaniac drunken-driving violations in it's community.

Illegal aliens came into our country knowing they were breaking our laws. Why then are we so surprised when they also commit document fraud, murder, rape, crimes against children, burglary, drive without a license, without insurance and while intoxicated. Why are we surprised when they do not respect our laws when we do not respect them ourselves.

Letter to the Editor: Obama among worst presidents

The Leavenworth Times.

I came across this letter to the editor in The Leavenworth Times, and thought it was one of the most accurate analysis of the Obama presidency I have ever read. You can read the entire letter below, or also here

Leavenworth, Kan. —
William Dameron
Leavenworth

To the editor:
Since 1900, America has had 19 presidents, not counting McKinley who took office in 1897. Three of them died in office and one resigned. Teddy Roosevelt replaced the assassinated McKinley, Harry Truman replaced FDR, Lyndon Johnson replaced Jack Kennedy, and Gerald Ford took over for Nixon, who resigned. Teddy and Harry were later elected on their own, so by my count, our voters have elected 17 presidents since 1904. We've had varied results.

It seems to me that some of those presidents were (or are) terrible, and maybe we need to consider qualifications more closely when we elect new ones. If only we knew which qualifications to look for, and which to shun. Perhaps we can work them out, to some extent, based on history.

People will rate these 19 presidents differently. I choose, as the best: Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and Ronald Reagan; the worst: Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama. Franklin Delano Roosevelt belongs in both groups – some of his choices were very good, others very bad – my opinion.

The best presidents were hard working, dedicated men who made the right decisions for the right reasons. The worst? Wilson, the first progressive, was a liberal who led the nation into a war in which the United States had no compelling interest, costing 117,000 American lives and more than 200,000 wounded. Carter was a weak and ineffectual president who could be counted on to make the wrong decision every time, based on shaky intellectual judgment and liberal values. Obama is – what I said about Carter, but perhaps 10 times worse (in my opinion) because he is a fanatical ideologue and a narcissist who believes himself infallible – he doesn't value the opinions of others.

So, what qualities did the good presidents have in common? Hard work, honesty, belief in America, dedication to the job, and solid principles. They had sufficient intellect to understand the issues and make the right choices. All were experienced and successful in many facets of life before taking office. (Truman failed as a haberdasher, but was a highly successful captain of artillery in World War I. In World War II, he made his mark as a no-nonsense senator. He was incredibly honest and dedicated.)
The bad presidents? In my opinion, Carter was simply incompetent, though honest and well-meaning. Wilson and Obama were ideologues who wanted to take the country leftward. Obama came to office with virtually no useful experience, although he served in the Illinois and U.S. senates briefly, without distinction. He seems to have a high intellect, but no common sense – little aptitude for leadership, and skewed values that led him the wrong way.

When we voters look at the candidates, what qualities should we favor? I'd go for: a record of hard work and accomplishment; experience (particularly military and/or as governor); dedication; values; and intellect. Leadership is a must.

So, from the current crop of Republican candidates, I'd have to pick Romney and Gingrich as having the most experience, dedication, and intellect. (I may be Newt's only fan), I like Santorum, Pawlenty, and Bachman, but all lack experience. If Rick Perry jumps in, he moves to the top of my list. His more than three terms as a successful governor of Texas are on the record. His leadership, dedication, and values can't be surpassed.

I think Mr. Dameron is right on. The qualities most desired in the 2012 election will be hard work and accomplishment; experience (particularly military and/or as governor); dedication; values; and intellect.

Leadership is a must !
