Someone you should know U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Dakota Meyer

Ambush Survivor Dakota Meyer

Dakota Meyer, who left active-duty service in the U.S. Marine Corps in June 2010, will receive the Medal of Honor for his actions in Afghanistan. The former corporal will be the third living service member to receive the Medal for actions in Afghanistan or Iraq, and the first living Marine to receive it in 41 years. U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta personally accepted the Medal in November 2010, and Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry did so just last week.

On Sept. 8, 2009, Meyer and his unit came under attack from jihadis who outnumbered them four to one. Urgent calls for artillery support were refused, leading to letters of reprimand for some of the officers heading the operation. When helicopter pilots couldn't help retrieve four missing service members due to fierce enemy fire, the Marine Times reports, "[Meyer] charged into a kill zone on foot and alone to find three missing Marines and a Navy corpsman, who had been pinned down under intense enemy fire in Ganjgal, a remote village near the Pakistan border in violent Kunar province. Already wounded by shrapnel, Meyer found them dead and stripped of their gear and weapons, and helped carry them from the kill zone." Meyer said that he feels like "the furthest thing from a hero" because he didn't recover his comrades alive. Our hearts go out to the families of the fallen Marines and Navy corpsman, as well as Meyer. His selfless heroism is worthy of honor.

Michelle Bachmann has doctor certification, how about Obama ?

Michele Bachmann has emerged as a top Republican presidential candidate, so the time has come for the Left to start picking her apart. The attack this week was that Michelle Bachmann suffers from migraines. This shocking revaltaion comes from A group of anonymous "former aides and staffers" who claimed that Bachmann's condition has landed her in the hospital on at least three occasions, impacting her work on Capitol Hill. Bachmann was forced to respond that she has been able to control her infrequent attacks with medication, and she even supplied a doctor's note certifying that she's in "good general health."

What I am wondering is when we will get a letter from Obama's doctor certifying his mental health after years of drug abuse ? Don't hold your breath it's not going to happen.

Liberals believe that Franklin D. Roosevelt was perfectly fit to be president despite being paralyzed by polio, and John F. Kennedy was considered a virile chief executive despite having a debilitating back problem as well as Addison's Disease.Although I do not necessarily agree that they are the best presidents to hold office, but I don't think Bachmann's rare migraines render her unfit for office.

That didn't stop rampant media speculation she may be unfit to be president If that weren't enough, a few Leftists are advancing the rumor that Bachmann's husband is homosexual. They have no proof, but since he works with people with deep-seated psychological issues including homosexuality, the twisted logic goes, he must be homosexual too. Liberals vigorously support homosexuals but apparently only if they're leftists, they also support blacks, women, and minorities, but again only if the are liberals, and support the left's agenda.

Michelle Malkin probably said it best "My two cents: I would much rather have a migraine sufferer in the White House than the current migraine INDUCER-in-chief."

The hypocrisy is so thick it laughable, but the Democrats remain true to form, "Party before country" "Tactics instead of substance ".

U.S. Debt Crisis Is Contrived, James Grant Says

James Grant  whose Interest Rate Observer newsletter is followed by many big institutional investors, argues on Bloomberg TV that the gold standard is a better alternative for money management and that the historical evidence is incontrovertible.

Grant has been  calling for Bernake's resignation for months. He says the debasement of  fiat currency will continue and this will drive a gold rally.

“To me the gold price takes the form of a very uncomplicated formula, and all you have to do is divide one by ‘n.’  And ‘n’, I’m glad you ask, ‘n’ is the world’s trust in the institution of paper money and in the capacity of people like Ben Bernanke to manage it.  So the smaller ‘n’, the bigger the price.  One divided by a receding number is the definition of a bull market."

House Passes the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act

House passes the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 (H.R. 2560) by a vote of 234-190.  Yesterday,
The House has finally put some teeth in the bill to balance the budget and passed the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act which ensure Washington balances the budget and solves our debt crisis by living within its means.

Obama and the Democrats have no plan they want to continue their spending spree and have avoided their responsibility to present a serious budget proposal to the American people for over two years. Obama throws more rhetoric and promises at the problem. In speeches he gives about the budget he obfuscates, and talks about cutting maybe 500 Billion in maybe 10 years, maybe 15 years, who knows, or cares. It's a ruse, he has no plan and any cuts that are not immediate will never happen.

After playing the "race card' again by accusing Eric Cantor of treating  him worse that "any other" president in history, he storms out of the discussions with Congress and runs back to the  Gang of Six proposal, the one he was against before, he was for it ? Leadership  now  means wait and see what the Republicans offer, complain, criticize and shop around for a better offer.

Any deal that does not do immediate cuts is phony, we know from experience politicians have 100% success rate in fulfilling promises to raise taxes, but are not so good when it comes to making spending reductions real, in fact they will never happen. But the tax increases sure as hell will.

As the debate over the nation’s debt continues, I still believe that any increase in the debt limit must be accompanied by substantial spending cuts and reforms.this measure will ensure Washington balances the budget and solves our debt crisis by living within its means.

The American people are saying to Washington, ‘Quit spending money we don’t have.’  So today House Republicans will bring to the floor the Cut, Cap, and Balance plan…  There is no other credible plan on the table that avoids default and solves the problem.”

The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act contains three provisions designed to avert our debt crisis by controlling federal spending and preventing unnecessary tax hikes on job creators:

    (1) Cuts total spending immediately – $111 billion in cuts over the next year alone and $5.8 trillion over the next decade.
    (2) Caps federal spending at less than 20% of the economic output of the United States within a decade.
    (3) Requires the passage of a balanced budget amendment before raising the nation’s debt limit.

Contact your representative and them know you support this bill. And that you are tired of failed leadership. Let them know you want politicians to do something about out of control spending, government waste, and fraud, and work within a budget.

Republicans ask for balanced budget amendment

Cut, Cap and Balance

The GOP has finally gotten serious about budget negotiations, and have asked for balanced budget amendment as part of deal to consider closing some tax loop holes.

One way to limit the outrages spending that has gone on the last few years, and avoid this debt limit problem in the future is to enact a balanced budget amendment. Up until now, it looked like this would be just another muppet show, with nothing achieved. We still have a long way to go, but the Republicans have either being playing it tight to the vest, it just remembered why they were swept into office 2010.

“Neither party is going to balance the budget unless there’s some discipline in the system,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

In exchange for a constitutional amendment, Mr. Graham said he would be open to closing tax loopholes or identifying other ways to raise revenues, but only if those revenues go toward debt reduction. He rejected President Obama’s assertion on Friday that lawmakers can balance the budget without such an amendment, as evidenced by the spending binges of recent years.

The proposal would call for major spending cuts, capping federal spending and the balanced-budget amendment. In exchange for those three things, the debt ceiling would be raised.
