Trial Lawyers prepare for war with Rick Perry

As Govenor of Texas, Rick Perry signed into law a tort-reform bill designed to eliminate frivolous lawsuits in Texas.  And no one hates Rick Perry more in Texas than trial lawyers. Now Perry is bringing the long overdue issue of tort reform into the national spotlight.

Trial Lawyers are not taking this lying down, they are mobilizing into a national phalanx of pro-Obama bundlers and super PAC donors with the sole intention of defeating Rick Perry in 2012 and taking Tort Reform off the National agenda.

America’s trial lawyers are getting ready to make the case against one of their biggest targets in years: Texas Gov. Rick Perry.Among litigators, there is no presidential candidate who inspires the same level of hatred — and fear — as Perry, an avowed opponent of the plaintiffs’ bar who has presided over several rounds of tort reform as governor.And if Perry ends up as the Republican nominee for president, deep-pocketed trial lawyers intend to play a central role in the campaign to defeat him.

That’s a potential financial boon to a president who has unsettled trial lawyers with his own rhetorical gestures in the direction of tort reform. A general election pitting Barack Obama and Perry could turn otherwise apathetic trial lawyers into a phalanx of pro-Obama bundlers and super PAC donors.

Democratic Houston trial lawyer Steve Mostyn — who, along with his wife, Amber, donated nearly $9 million to Texas candidates and party committees in the 2010 cycle — said he’s in the process of forming “some federal PACs” to take on Perry. That will likely include a federal super PAC that could take in the kind of massive donations that are permitted in Texas.Mostyn said his political spending wouldn’t just center on the trial lawyers’ agenda.

Obama shuts door on the discussion about Tort Reform

Obama was recently booed the annual meeting of the American Medical Association in Chicago. He was booed by an audience that included America's leading medical experts for declaring he was "not advocating caps on malpractice awards. Medical experts know what Obama refuses to discuss. It costs a great deal of money, and a greater an amount of valuable time, for a medical practitioner to protect himself or herself against malpractice lawsuits. Some estimates run as high as $100 billion a year .

Obama has called the cost of health care "a threat to our economy" and "a ticking time-bomb." so it seems strange that he declares “off limits “one of the obvious solutions to lowering health care costs. Obama continues to pay lip service to being "willing to listen" and we "need to explore a range of ideas" Could this have something to do with the fact that the tort bar has been the largest single contributor to the Democratic Party in recent years?

Obama and Democrats continue to simply slam the door on any discussion on a wide range of issues they consider sacrosanct such as ; medicare, social security, welfare reform , entitlement spending, as well as tort reform that. While masquerading under the guise of  watching out of the middle class and poor, Obama Democrats actually continue to feed the coffers of bankers, and lawyers at the expense of the taxpayer. No one has suffered more from Obama's failed economic policies, or lack of than the poor and the middle class.

Just the mere mention of any of these issues by a Republican in relation to the credit crisis or the national debt brings out the fear mongers on the left, but no discussion of the issues.

“Rick Perry thinks that Medicare and Social Security are unconstitutional — he wrote it in his book. When the health care debate was heating up, he raised the specter of secession. And when asked about the chairman of the Federal Reserve, he used the word "treasonous."
While fair-minded Americans may view these moments as dangerous flashes illustrating the kind of man Rick Perry is, a plurality of Republican primary voters view him as their choice to be the nominee. …

Perry’s very loose and dangerous use of the term "treason" is something that brought him criticism from many corners — just not Republican primary voters.

Voters who are disturbed by ending Medicare, what it means when a major governor threatens secession in the 21st century, and what it means for a major national figure to throw around terms like "treason" should be just as worried about this Republican Party as they are about Texas Governor Rick Perry.”

The fear mongering continues, and important issues such as ; welfare reform, entitlement spending, medicare, social security, and tort reform remain off the table for discussion. Meanwhile Obama continues to apply "word fixes" to our  our problems while doing nothing.

Thanks Governor Rick Perry  we are, for the first time, able to use “Ponzi scheme” to describe Medicare and Medicaid. Malpractice Insurance  costs are major cost of health care, frivolous lawsuits drive up the costs for all of us. If Obama and The Democrats were serious about addressing the cost of health care they would be seriously talking about setting reasonable limits on frivolous lawsuits and trying to rein in the high cost associated with health care.


Rick Perry  "Dangerous" for America ? I cannot imagine anyone more dangerous for America  than the third rate community organizer that has taken over our government and surrounded himself with fourth and fith rate talent.

Maybe  Perry will be the one to lead us out of Governance by  INCOMPETENCE  - CORRUPTION - PATRONAGE  and  REGULATIONS and back to Governance for the people by the people.

Calling Obama a liar is a pretty much a sure thing.

Remember when Republican Rep. Joe Wilson famously shouted at President Obama during a 2009 televised presidential address to a joint session of Congress, “You lie!”. well Wilson knows a sure thing when he sees it. The outburst, prompted by Obama pledging his health care reform bill would not benefit illegal immigrants.

But now Wilson says time has proved him right.

In an appearance on Fox News' America Live on Wednesday, Wilson said a recent award of $28 million to community health care centers around the country will no doubt benefit illegal immigrants, despite Obama’s pledge.

On his campaign website, Wilson wrote: “It is inevitable that they will serve illegal aliens. The president specifically promised the American people that ‘Obamacare’ would not cover those who are here illegally. He misled all of us.”

Department of Health and Human Services spokesmen have confirmed $8.5 million of the grant will go to centers serving migrant and seasonal farm workers, saying patients will not be asked about immigration status. The centers will offer primary care to all residents who come in.

On his campaign website, Wilson wrote: “It is inevitable that they will serve illegal aliens. The president specifically promised the American people that ‘Obamacare’ would not cover those who are here illegally. He misled all of us.”

The Department of Health and Human Services shot back, saying the patients still must pay for care.

“By statute, health centers are required to provide primary health care to all residents of the health center’s service area without regard for ability to pay,” spokesman Chris Stenrud wrote in an email to Fox. “However, health centers do not provide free care. All health center patients are expected to contribute to the cost of their care.”

How will Obama pay for his welfare state ?

Obama's first term was all about putting the building blocks in place for his European style welfare state. That's why the Health Care Bill was important enough to be pushed through using political trickery, "cloture". Let's not forget the democrats controlled all three branches of government and could not legally pass that monstrosity. But it is key to building the welfare state, and had to be put in place. Entitlements once on the books can almost never be taken back. Even if sometime after the 2012 elections Republicans manage to get control of all three branches of government, it's not clear they would ever be able to kill the Health Care bill.

Cap and Trade is still on the agenda

Cap and Trade would have been a major source of funding for the Obama's Franco-German welfare state, along with the VAT tax. Cap and Trade is dead for now, but the media will continue tp push the Global warming fear mongering campaign, and the government will continue to spread it's propaganda, if the right crisis or opportunity arises, they will be ready to try and capitalize on it and pass Cap and Trade.

The European welfare state requires huge levels of public spending and taxation. Public spending in France, Italy and Sweden is more than 50% of GDP. Germany provides the lower boundary at a "modest" 48%. Some of this public spending goes to the unfortunate, but the bulk goes to the middle class for retirement and health benefits.


If Obama wins re-election the Vat Tax may be the next.

The VAT tax almost certainly will be among the first issues that will Obama will push if he is re-elected. The VAT tax has now become even more important since Cap and Trade has died. Obama is desperate and need funds, he is looking at every option. Another avenue is energy, and gas taxes. Obama and the Dept of Energy are looking at imposing punitive taxes on gas as well as other types of fossil fuel energy sources, all in the name of pushing "green energy" and will claim those taxes will to that cause, but will slowly disappear into the general fund and make their way into the welfare and entitlement programs.

Obama sees defense spending as a cash cow waiting to be slaughtered, and the money used to fund his welfare programs.

And lastly the Health Care bill itself will provide a source of funding, with the government taking on food and health by taxing and regulating so-called "un-healthy" foods, that it will claim adds to our health care costs.


It's only going to get worse.

If Obama wins re-election don't look for the class-warfare to end, it will only increase. Obama needs to implement the last pillars of his Welfare state. The pillars of the European welfare state are state retirement (often at relatively young ages), universal state health care,and entitlements for poverty and unemployment that are virtually unrestricted by calendar limits. And massive amounts of funds must be found to pay for it.

Ohio cleared to opt out of Affordable Health Care Act

Ohio Health-Care cleared for the fall ballot.

Ohio wants to send a message to the Obama administration "Keep health care between doctors and patients, and keep bureaucrats out of it." Voters in Ohio will get the chance to decide whether Ohio can opt out of the national health care overhaul after the state's top election official said Tuesday that opponents of the federal law have enough signatures to put a constitutional amendment on the Nov. 8 ballot. Ohio has 427,000 valid signatures. They had submitted more than 546,000 and needed roughly 358,000 of them validated to make it on to the ballot.

The measure would change the Ohio Constitution to prohibit any federal, state or local law from forcing Ohio residents, employers or health care providers to participate in a health care system. It also would prevent the state from enacting a Massachusetts-style health care program, where the state requires a minimum level of insurance coverage.

If passed, the amendment would not apply to any law or rule in effect before March 19, 2010, so as not to prohibit Ohioans for participating in programs such as Medicare.

A coalition of tea party organizations, small government advocates and religious groups gathered the signatures to get the health care measure on the ballot and now plan to mount a statewide campaign in support of it.

The coalition has more than 35,000 volunteers, an "army of grass roots support," ready to mobilize to raise money to turn out voters in November's election, said Jeff Longstreth, campaign manager for Ohioans for Healthcare Freedom, a group that played a large role in the petitions.

Obamacare is a job killer, it has been a disaster for the country and the economy, and the bulk of it doesn't even kick in until 2014.
