Obama lectured Americans on living within their means - really, he did

The all time leading KING of spending other people's money and driving up debt came out and lectured us on "living within our means" As with most Obama speeches it was long on rhetoric and abstract concepts, very short on details, and facts.

We have reached the intersection of Cloud-Cukoo-Land and The Yellow Brick Road. In what can only be described as an another awful political stunt to portray himself as the only fiscally responsible adult in the room. Obama took credit for the talks that averted a government shutdown,and  also lectured America on “living within our means.” and acted as if the last three years never happened, they just went up in Pixie dust right before our eyes ;

“Like any worthwhile compromise, both sides had to make tough decisions and give ground on issues that were important to them,” Obama said before cameras in the White House Blue Room as he acknowledged some of the cuts agreed to would be painful, with certain programs cut back and other projects encountering delays. “But beginning to live within our means is the only way to protect those investments that will help America compete for new jobs,”

Of course, Obama never wanted to cut a dime from the budget that he increased by a trillion dollars in the last three years.

We know because we have video tape, and the internet now to prove it. We've watched hundreds of these speeches by now, and they keep looking more like DNC fund-raisers than an Oval Office address. Though Obama constantly refers to the need to compromise, his idea of compromise  is to take to his bully pulpit and tell the public to overwhelm Republicans with demands to raise taxes. ... never once has asked them to demand congress cut spending, except when it's couched under the guise of raising taxes.

As far as the "Grand Plan' to save the poor honest, hardworking folk it's another reelection scam that he hopes will save a few people enough money on refinanced underwater mortgages, with the hopes that they will then take that money and spend it, creating some positive economic numbers before the election.

This one could actually work, for his reelection, not the economy if we lived in Cloud-Cuckoo-Land. We all know that when Obama wants to hand out money to Wall Street, or pet alternative energy companies like Solyndra, his administration green lights the money, breaks the rules, and possibly the law, to fast track the loans almost immediately.

But when The feds are handing out money to the poor, honest, hardworking folk, they create a maze of red tape and government restrictions that a layman cannot even understand, and needs to hire a lawyer, who will take 50% off the top, just to do the paper work. The money barely trickles out, if it ever trickles at all.

It's a pitiful sight watching a president twisting in the wind, pretending that he is just caught in forces beyond his control, unable to do anything except go on repeating the same mistakes. It takes courage to change course. he doesn't have that courage.

Obama, Geithner and Bernake are ideological prisoners of the failed Keynesian faith they have been following all along -- their conviction is that the country can spend its way out of hard times. And when times get harder, just keep spending more. They couldn't change, even if they wanted to, and they don't want to.

Obama likes to complain no other President in history has been treated worse than him. No one gives him credit for all he has done, and that he can't get anything right. At this point he is right, he's continually doubled down on failed policies for three years, and passed up many opportunities to change course. If he actually gives in to any of the fiscally sound ideas that he's been bashing and rejecting for the last three years now, right before the election, he really looks bad. But he has the audacity to do it. That's for sure.

Illinois's plan to tax jobs out of the state is working

Illinois is doing a great job of "losing jobs" Since January, Illinois has dropped 89,000 people from its employment rolls.

Illinois lost more jobs during the month of July than any other state in the nation, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report. After losing 7,200 jobs in June, Illinois lost an additional 24,900 non-farm payroll jobs in July. The report also said Illinois’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.5 percent. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in the unemployment rate.

States that implement a combination of high taxes, overspending and red tape do nothing but chase away jobs and leave many of the poor, working class, middle class, people that they claim to be trying to help without jobs.

Pat Quinn,the worse Governor in the country,likes to tell the story about how he was forced to room with Governor Rick Perry from Texas on a governors trip to Iraq a few years ago, and jokes about how he had to submit himself to the harshest punishment known to man -- listening to Perry's philosophy -- well maybe he should not only have listened, but also have taken some notes, because Perry's philosophy is working, his isn't.

Illinois is a microcosm of what is happening federally, while governor Quinn is making fun of Texas, their approach has been pro free market, limited government, and less spending, and it's working. While states like Illinois continue to follow the Obama model of -- take more money -- spend more money -- run it through the government and create jobs -- It doesn't work.

A Pathetic Budget deal

This is a pathetic deal. Seriously, anyone who cannot find more to trim from this massive, wasteful, money sucking black hole federal government isn't trying. This deal is ludicrous because it does not cut enough.

Considering that the republicans control only one branch of the government there is only so much they can do. However it seems like far too many republicans are willing , when push comes to shove, to go back to inside the beltway business as usual and kick the can down the road, rather than make tough decisions and stick to their campaign promises of smaller government and focus the government on protecting our rights, not distributing them to whomever they prefer.

It is a core commitment of the constitution to protect our rights and defend the country. It is NOT a core commitment of the Constitution to take other people’s money and redistribute it ?

Despicable display of partisan politics and maneuvering tactics by the democrats to keep the money spigot flowing full force to Washington. The democrats have refused to address the budget for two and half years, Obama threw together some crap he cherry picked from the Simpson-Bowles report that was voted down 97 to zip.

A total failure in addressing our budget and debt crisis. The Republicans got what they could which wasn't much to talk about. The democrats proved they are irresponsible and out of touch. They were more interested in following the cult of Obama than doing their jobs and addressing the nations budget and debt crisis. They refuse to admit there is a debt problem, and plan to continue to loot defense spending to build and grow the welfare state.

Meanwhile the MSM media is all a buzz reporting that a deal has been reached, usually along with a picture of a smiling Obama, in another pitiful attempt to make it look like a success for Obama and ignore the fact he was completely absent in this debate, and ran from Twitter to the MSM pandering to anyone and everyone that would listen to pass something "he liked" so he could sign it, and oh by the way, he also added another self-serving little tidbit "make sure we kick this can far enough down the road so it doesn't interfere with my 2012 re-election campaign ", a pathetic lack of leadership.

The White House has not experienced such a low level selfish, cheap tricks, stunts, and political pandering since Bill Clinton was renting out Lincoln's bedroom for campaign donations, and he was eventually impeached.

If Obama gets a bump in his poll ratings over this, which we all know he watches as much as his money, it's disgusting. If he does, he can thank the barking dogs in the MSM for spinning this thing for him. It is a lose-lose deal for America no matter how they spin it.

House Passes the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act

House passes the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 (H.R. 2560) by a vote of 234-190.  Yesterday,
The House has finally put some teeth in the bill to balance the budget and passed the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act which ensure Washington balances the budget and solves our debt crisis by living within its means.

Obama and the Democrats have no plan they want to continue their spending spree and have avoided their responsibility to present a serious budget proposal to the American people for over two years. Obama throws more rhetoric and promises at the problem. In speeches he gives about the budget he obfuscates, and talks about cutting maybe 500 Billion in maybe 10 years, maybe 15 years, who knows, or cares. It's a ruse, he has no plan and any cuts that are not immediate will never happen.

After playing the "race card' again by accusing Eric Cantor of treating  him worse that "any other" president in history, he storms out of the discussions with Congress and runs back to the  Gang of Six proposal, the one he was against before, he was for it ? Leadership  now  means wait and see what the Republicans offer, complain, criticize and shop around for a better offer.

Any deal that does not do immediate cuts is phony, we know from experience politicians have 100% success rate in fulfilling promises to raise taxes, but are not so good when it comes to making spending reductions real, in fact they will never happen. But the tax increases sure as hell will.

As the debate over the nation’s debt continues, I still believe that any increase in the debt limit must be accompanied by substantial spending cuts and reforms.this measure will ensure Washington balances the budget and solves our debt crisis by living within its means.

The American people are saying to Washington, ‘Quit spending money we don’t have.’  So today House Republicans will bring to the floor the Cut, Cap, and Balance plan…  There is no other credible plan on the table that avoids default and solves the problem.”

The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act contains three provisions designed to avert our debt crisis by controlling federal spending and preventing unnecessary tax hikes on job creators:

    (1) Cuts total spending immediately – $111 billion in cuts over the next year alone and $5.8 trillion over the next decade.
    (2) Caps federal spending at less than 20% of the economic output of the United States within a decade.
    (3) Requires the passage of a balanced budget amendment before raising the nation’s debt limit.

Contact your representative and them know you support this bill. And that you are tired of failed leadership. Let them know you want politicians to do something about out of control spending, government waste, and fraud, and work within a budget.

Republicans ask for balanced budget amendment

Cut, Cap and Balance

The GOP has finally gotten serious about budget negotiations, and have asked for balanced budget amendment as part of deal to consider closing some tax loop holes.

One way to limit the outrages spending that has gone on the last few years, and avoid this debt limit problem in the future is to enact a balanced budget amendment. Up until now, it looked like this would be just another muppet show, with nothing achieved. We still have a long way to go, but the Republicans have either being playing it tight to the vest, it just remembered why they were swept into office 2010.

“Neither party is going to balance the budget unless there’s some discipline in the system,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

In exchange for a constitutional amendment, Mr. Graham said he would be open to closing tax loopholes or identifying other ways to raise revenues, but only if those revenues go toward debt reduction. He rejected President Obama’s assertion on Friday that lawmakers can balance the budget without such an amendment, as evidenced by the spending binges of recent years.

The proposal would call for major spending cuts, capping federal spending and the balanced-budget amendment. In exchange for those three things, the debt ceiling would be raised.

The NYT facsinated with phone hacking scandal in UK

The NYT is fascinated with the phone hacking scandal in the UK. It seems they can't get enough of it. Could it be that they are really concerned for the family who's privacy was violated and have experienced a terrible trauma, first with the murder of their daughter, then by finding out their phones had been hacked by some overzealous, idiotic reporters ?

I am guessing not. I mean what we know about the liberal media is that cold blooded partisanship, and self-serving reporting is the norm. The interest of the people are only a casual and convenient byproduct for what is disseminated and served to the masses. It is party and cause above country as usual.

Meanwhile here at home what doesn't get much attention is a flat, hamster wheel economy that still is losing jobs, and has put millions of people out of work, people who are also losing their homes, while Obama has handed over hundreds of billions of dollars to the zombie banks, that should have been left to fail and go bankrupt, and the money used to help keep families in their
homes, and keep our communities together, not to save fat cat bankers, No outrage here by the NYT ?

Also just when you thought we had seen the last of the dirty cozy relationship between the Feds and the banks to hand out money to people who cannot pay it back (someone will have to) DOJ gets caught strong-arming small banks with potential charges of racism, if they do not set aside millions to lend to minorities for more, you guessed it, sub-prime loans. No outrage here by the NYT ?

It also seems that the investigation of operation "gun runner" by Darell Isa has revealed some very disturbing information.The Dept of Selective Justice has been running an illegal gun operation into Mexico, with the intent of creating enough outrage here to implement new gun laws to take away guns from, not gangsters, or Mexican drug cartels, but honest hardworking American people. remember when Obama said ; " 99% of the guns being used in Mexico came from the U.S. " Well another bold faced lie from the liar-in-chief, but now it seems it was part of a bigger scam by the White House to implement new gun control laws. And this one directly costs the lives of Americans. No outrage here by the NYT either ?

Obama continues to pursue his strategy of Debt Ceiling Demagoguery and Extortion, and NOT seriously addressing the issue of the National Debt, or Budget. Instead of seriously attacking our spending and debt problem, Obama has launched a two pronged smear and fear mongering campaign to restore his addiction to spending our money. First by scaring Grandma, and Grandpa into thinking that their SSI checks will not come, and then using the debt ceiling talks and refusal to raise the borrowing limit as an excuse for this sick, and dying economy. No outrage here by the NYT either ?

The Obama administration continues it's illegal war in Libya, predator strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan targeted international killings by the state, that have killed hundreds of civilians, torture at Gitmo, and billions of dollars of stimulus money have disappeared, Billions of dollars in federal aid delivered directly to the local level to help revive the economy have gone overwhelmingly to places that supported President Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

Most of the media have confined their outrage towards torture, war, illegal banking activities, stolen money, payoffs to campaign contributors, and crony capitalism to the years 2001-2008, after that the outrage seems to have faded, no boots in the street, no demonstrations, no concern for murdered civilians, or concern for the human rights of captured terrorists, except of course unless something interesting happens in Israel that fits their narrative. And no concern for the millions of America people who are losing their jobs, and their homes as a result of a Ponzi schemed cooked up by the Federal government, and the big banks to steal our wealth.

Maybe that's the real story.

TAXES: No time to increase them
Dont you know, this is the worst time to raise taxes? It is unconscionable and does not help the economy. What about city employees keeping their wages status quo? People out of work, plus families on limited income have suffered as well as seniors who have not had a cost of living raise in two years. City employees should be happy to have a job with benefits.
