This is a pathetic deal. Seriously, anyone who cannot find more to trim from this massive, wasteful, money sucking black hole federal government isn't trying. This deal is ludicrous because it does not cut enough.
Considering that the republicans control only one branch of the government there is only so much they can do. However it seems like far too many republicans are willing , when push comes to shove, to go back to inside the beltway business as usual and kick the can down the road, rather than make tough decisions and stick to their campaign promises of smaller government and focus the government on protecting our rights, not distributing them to whomever they prefer.
It is a core commitment of the constitution to protect our rights and defend the country. It is NOT a core commitment of the Constitution to take other people’s money and redistribute it ?
Despicable display of partisan politics and maneuvering tactics by the democrats to keep the money spigot flowing full force to Washington. The democrats have refused to address the budget for two and half years, Obama threw together some crap he cherry picked from the Simpson-Bowles report that was voted down 97 to zip.
A total failure in addressing our budget and debt crisis. The Republicans got what they could which wasn't much to talk about. The democrats proved they are irresponsible and out of touch. They were more interested in following the cult of Obama than doing their jobs and addressing the nations budget and debt crisis. They refuse to admit there is a debt problem, and plan to continue to loot defense spending to build and grow the welfare state.
Meanwhile the MSM media is all a buzz reporting that a deal has been reached, usually along with a picture of a smiling Obama, in another pitiful attempt to make it look like a success for Obama and ignore the fact he was completely absent in this debate, and ran from Twitter to the MSM pandering to anyone and everyone that would listen to pass something "he liked" so he could sign it, and oh by the way, he also added another self-serving little tidbit "make sure we kick this can far enough down the road so it doesn't interfere with my 2012 re-election campaign ", a pathetic lack of leadership.
The White House has not experienced such a low level selfish, cheap tricks, stunts, and political pandering since Bill Clinton was renting out Lincoln's bedroom for campaign donations, and he was eventually impeached.
If Obama gets a bump in his poll ratings over this, which we all know he watches as much as his money, it's disgusting. If he does, he can thank the barking dogs in the MSM for spinning this thing for him. It is a lose-lose deal for America no matter how they spin it.

Michelle Bachmann has doctor certification, how about Obama ?
Michele Bachmann has emerged as a top Republican presidential candidate, so the time has come for the Left to start picking her apart. The attack this week was that Michelle Bachmann suffers from migraines. This shocking revaltaion comes from A group of anonymous "former aides and staffers" who claimed that Bachmann's condition has landed her in the hospital on at least three occasions, impacting her work on Capitol Hill. Bachmann was forced to respond that she has been able to control her infrequent attacks with medication, and she even supplied a doctor's note certifying that she's in "good general health."
What I am wondering is when we will get a letter from Obama's doctor certifying his mental health after years of drug abuse ? Don't hold your breath it's not going to happen.
Liberals believe that Franklin D. Roosevelt was perfectly fit to be president despite being paralyzed by polio, and John F. Kennedy was considered a virile chief executive despite having a debilitating back problem as well as Addison's Disease.Although I do not necessarily agree that they are the best presidents to hold office, but I don't think Bachmann's rare migraines render her unfit for office.
That didn't stop rampant media speculation she may be unfit to be president If that weren't enough, a few Leftists are advancing the rumor that Bachmann's husband is homosexual. They have no proof, but since he works with people with deep-seated psychological issues including homosexuality, the twisted logic goes, he must be homosexual too. Liberals vigorously support homosexuals but apparently only if they're leftists, they also support blacks, women, and minorities, but again only if the are liberals, and support the left's agenda.
Michelle Malkin probably said it best "My two cents: I would much rather have a migraine sufferer in the White House than the current migraine INDUCER-in-chief."
The hypocrisy is so thick it laughable, but the Democrats remain true to form, "Party before country" "Tactics instead of substance ".

The NYT facsinated with phone hacking scandal in UK
The NYT is fascinated with the phone hacking scandal in the UK. It seems they can't get enough of it. Could it be that they are really concerned for the family who's privacy was violated and have experienced a terrible trauma, first with the murder of their daughter, then by finding out their phones had been hacked by some overzealous, idiotic reporters ?
I am guessing not. I mean what we know about the liberal media is that cold blooded partisanship, and self-serving reporting is the norm. The interest of the people are only a casual and convenient byproduct for what is disseminated and served to the masses. It is party and cause above country as usual.
Meanwhile here at home what doesn't get much attention is a flat, hamster wheel economy that still is losing jobs, and has put millions of people out of work, people who are also losing their homes, while Obama has handed over hundreds of billions of dollars to the zombie banks, that should have been left to fail and go bankrupt, and the money used to help keep families in their
homes, and keep our communities together, not to save fat cat bankers, No outrage here by the NYT ?
Also just when you thought we had seen the last of the dirty cozy relationship between the Feds and the banks to hand out money to people who cannot pay it back (someone will have to) DOJ gets caught strong-arming small banks with potential charges of racism, if they do not set aside millions to lend to minorities for more, you guessed it, sub-prime loans. No outrage here by the NYT ?
It also seems that the investigation of operation "gun runner" by Darell Isa has revealed some very disturbing information.The Dept of Selective Justice has been running an illegal gun operation into Mexico, with the intent of creating enough outrage here to implement new gun laws to take away guns from, not gangsters, or Mexican drug cartels, but honest hardworking American people. remember when Obama said ; " 99% of the guns being used in Mexico came from the U.S. " Well another bold faced lie from the liar-in-chief, but now it seems it was part of a bigger scam by the White House to implement new gun control laws. And this one directly costs the lives of Americans. No outrage here by the NYT either ?
Obama continues to pursue his strategy of Debt Ceiling Demagoguery and Extortion, and NOT seriously addressing the issue of the National Debt, or Budget. Instead of seriously attacking our spending and debt problem, Obama has launched a two pronged smear and fear mongering campaign to restore his addiction to spending our money. First by scaring Grandma, and Grandpa into thinking that their SSI checks will not come, and then using the debt ceiling talks and refusal to raise the borrowing limit as an excuse for this sick, and dying economy. No outrage here by the NYT either ?
The Obama administration continues it's illegal war in Libya, predator strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan targeted international killings by the state, that have killed hundreds of civilians, torture at Gitmo, and billions of dollars of stimulus money have disappeared, Billions of dollars in federal aid delivered directly to the local level to help revive the economy have gone overwhelmingly to places that supported President Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
Most of the media have confined their outrage towards torture, war, illegal banking activities, stolen money, payoffs to campaign contributors, and crony capitalism to the years 2001-2008, after that the outrage seems to have faded, no boots in the street, no demonstrations, no concern for murdered civilians, or concern for the human rights of captured terrorists, except of course unless something interesting happens in Israel that fits their narrative. And no concern for the millions of America people who are losing their jobs, and their homes as a result of a Ponzi schemed cooked up by the Federal government, and the big banks to steal our wealth.
Maybe that's the real story.

Wait before you change that vote, The Stimulus was successful !
The lame stream media is doing their part to help save a failed liberal agenda, and running every story they can find that focuses on conservative missteps, problems, or potential scandals, like Meg Whitman's illegal alien housekeeper, and pushing the trade war with China theme that Obama seems willing to play out now, instead of waiting until 2012.
They're also making some amazing claims. If your a democrat it must have been comforting to know that "leading economists announced that the recession ended in 2009, even though jobs, housing , and the auto industry would not start to recover in until 2012, how convenient. And now the Washington Post's Lori Montgomery is reporting that the Stimulus was not only successful, is a model for future government spending programs, say what ?
The crux of the story seems to be that corruption and misuse of funds has been very low, so therefore the stimulus has been successful. So why not throw away 700 billion dollars every few years. It occurred to me also that the main reason, if it is true that stealing stimulus funds has not occurred on any grand scale, may be because all the money was given to the union thugs and political vermin that would have tried to steal it in the first place, so there was no need.

A party that governs by spinning heart tugging narratives, ignoring reality, and steering clear of inconvenient facts, needs someone to publish their narratives, and the new media does it's job, no questions asked. Gone are the days of the old media, the the cigar chomping reporter, with the crumpled up suit and crooked hat, firing off expletives and digging up the dirt on the ruthless 'upper crust" elite and the hard nosed corrupt politicians.
The new media is led to believe they are part of the ruling class, they're not of course, but they have their degrees from from their elite schools, they are invited to the same cocktail parties, dinners, and fundraisers, their kids go to the same elite private schools, they are made to feel like they are part of the ruling class, they don't represent the people anymore. They are the barking dogs for the super rich, and the political class that are squeezing the life out of the heart of America, The Middle Class.
